I didn't love this one quite as much as the first book.  I think the suspense / plot twists / secret aspect of this book was dragged out.  Like the way the FMC kept getting back dreams or images of her past just seemed repetitive at some point.  Basically I LOVED book 1 and I'm still very much invested in the storyline overall, but this could have been a duet I think.  Spice is still top tier, and the storyline is still unique though.  I loved it enough to continue, but it was a bit of a disappointment from book one.

The fact that I read this book in one day and before midnight strikes (it's December 31st and this will really the very last book I read in 2019), says it all.

Holy moly.

I loved [b:Deviant King|48140079|Deviant King (Royal Elite, #1)|Rina Kent|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1570114564l/48140079._SY75_.jpg|73366263]. I loved it because it wasn't a simple bully romance with flawed, raw, characters. It also contained suspense, complex characters, a twisted and sick storyline that the author unraveled piece by piece, as if she doesn't want you to choke on it but she wants your shock once you reach the same conclusions as the main characters.

After the ending of Deviant King, Elsa's world fell to pieces. She is heartbroken, destroyed, devastated. She finally decided she wants to be with Aiden to rethink their relationship once again after what she discovered. Despite the circumstances that link Elsa and Aiden, he doesn't want to let her go and he tries all he can to be in her life and stay with her.

Elsa is truly shocked by what she learns, but it will take time to discover what happened in her past. I figured some pieces out at some point, but this part of the storyline was mostly unpredictable, and I loved that it was. It just proved that the author calculated every single aspect of her story and everything had meaning, especially when Elsa asked herself: "What did he/she mean by that?". I don't want to spoil you anything, so you'll need to find out about Elsa's life by reading this book.

The Elsa of Steel Princess is a stronger Elsa. Yet, she's drawn to Aiden despite what she discovers about him and she hates that he is able to make her do anything he wants her to do, even if she knows that she also wants to do those things. Elsa tried to be more free than she was in the first book and you could see her changes. In this one you'll also see her pain, her confusion, her emotions all over the place, because she's battling her inner demons. In the end she's barely pieced back together by her new resolution, but I wonder if her newfound trust in Aiden will stop her from doubting him.

We also had a few chapters from Aiden's perspective in this book, and I loved it. It was nice to finally be in his mind and figure out some of his thoughts and where he stands in all of this, since he was unreadable most of the times in Deviant King. His POV solidified my interest and liking in his character. He's evolved a lot and I think we'll see evolve even more in the last book of this trilogy, which I hope will end well for us. I wish that Aiden will keep his promises.

After this book I'm interested even more in Kimberly, Xander, Cole and Ronan. They are secondary characters in this trilogy, but I can't wait to read their books as well. I'm especially drawn to Cole and I don't know why. From how things looked in this book, my guess is that he'll be paired up with Silver. He looked like he enjoyed when Elsa or Aiden crushed her, but he also seemed concerned when it came to her. Xander will be surely paired up with Kimberly. Something must have happened in the past between them and even the scene in Deviant King when Elsa finds Kim and Xander seemingly molesting her may be different than how we thought it happened. It sure there's tension. As for Ronan, he seems to be interested in everyone, so it may be he'll be paired up with a new girl who comes to school?

Anyway, I can't wait for the last book of this trilogy. The bad thing is that it comes on January 23rd, but the good thing is that the release date is very close to today, so yay?
