This shit was still just sad. And they’re all babies (18-19?!?) trying to be adults and handle really traumatic things with no supports

I tore through this series so so quickly. I loved my time with this pack and I'm so incredibly thankful they got their HEA. Would definitely give this duet a reread in the future.

At the end of the first book, Kenny has succumbed to the poison left in her body from the attack. The truth has come out, and the guys are horrified by it. Unfortunately, it's too late for them to do anything about it, and she's going to be institutionalized.

The first half of this book is from the guys' POV, what they're going through, and trying to reach out to Kennedy.  They try to make up for their mistakes in whatever way they can, even if they never get the Kennedy they've come to know and love back. It's not exactly groveling, but they have their work cut out for them. Since they can't exactly apologize to her traditionally the way she is, they're just there for her in every way they can be.

The series is good. I couldn't put the first one down, and the second one I struggled to read in one go, as well, but I eventually had to cave to sleep! Once I woke up, I was back at it until I finished! The only real critique I have is that it could use one more round of editing. The first book had some errors in it (example, Charles was written as Charle's and Charle a few times), and this one has a few as well. There was also one big inconsistency in the final chapter before the epilogue that I noticed, though perhaps some may miss it. If I were to ever purchase this in physical form, I'd hope another round of editing would be done first!

If you enjoyed Evelyn's "Bonding Trials" duet, I'm certain you'll enjoy this duet as well!
