This book is so much fun. The writing is super funny, the characters are complex but likeable, and I just had a ball reading it. Absolutely adding David Yoon books to my TBR. I felt like the book had the comfort and fun of a Hallmark movie, while also being messy and believable and showing some really beautiful moments of male friendship and complicated sibling relationships. The ONLY thing I didn't love was the line that "alcohol is for victims." Feels a little victim-blamey and took me out of my love affair.

 I think this is okay. The typical "nerd" type tries to act cool to get the girl. The story deals a lot with family dynamics and self-esteem stuff.

I wholeheartedly loved it. This book got me out of a three-month long reading slump and it was a great first book to kick off the New Year.

Gray and Sunny briefly mention the racist comments made towards them.

When Sunny goes to Gunner's house, you see briefly that he is afraid of his father. He flinches and hides whatever he is doing whenever his father comes around. He flinches when Gunner accidentally swears because it is hinted that he gets hit when he swears

Gary (Sunny's brother) starts heavily drinking and ends up ruining Gray's performance because he gets wasted and storms on stage. Then when they meet outside, Sunny shoves Gray hard into traffic, landing Gary in the hospital.
