Another stunning story of two broken souls who find healing, hope, and love together. And some kinky sex too. ;)

I loved this dark and raw story! . It grabbed me from the beginning. Then somewhere in the middle it slowed and I didn't connect very well... i pushed through to be pleasantly surprised the ending was worth the parts that drug out in the middle.

This is going to be short and sweet.
I didn’t enjoy this one. Maybe if this had been my introduction to Pam Godwin? But it wasn’t and I couldn’t help but compare this book to others I’ve read from her. But don’t take my word for it because my opinions about Beneath The Burn are in the minority. Many people love it.
For such a lengthy book it felt like not a lot happened. It definitely could have lost at least 100-150 pages.
I didn’t enjoy the side plot at all. And the ending felt anticlimactic.
While I liked the MCs individually, I most certainly didn’t enjoy their romance. It was way too insta lovey and it felt forced because of that.
I felt like we were supposed to like the other band mates and friends but they kept using homophobic slurs and that just made me cringe and hate them.

CW: this book deals with dark topics such as kidnapping, rape, childhood abuse (physical, sexual, mental), drug use, present abuse (physical, sexual, mental, emotional), and violence

Overall rating 2 stars
Steaminess 3 stars (fingering, kissing, penetrative vaginal sex, penetrative anal sex kink: tying up, spanking)

I have read most of Pam Godwin 's books but this one may be the darkest I have read from her! In my opinion at least!
This is a book about pain, agony but also healing. My heart broke for Jay and Charlee.
Oh my God. What Charlee had to go through at the hands of Roy had me weeping for her!
I enjoyed the writing. In true Pam Godwin fashion, I felt for the characters and I wanted to fix them. Even as a reader, I wanted to help them.
The book is dark. Beware of that. But if you love that dark, gritty side of romance and if you love tortured heroes, then this is for you. I won't ever stop recommending Godwin's books. They are just that good.
Loved it.

Yikes! This was good. A lot of dark content, but also some pretty beautiful moments.
It wasn't what I expected, but I savoured it all the more for that unexpected plot.

A mixture of non-con/forced slavery, and tender love, this was beautifully unexpected.

Lots of triggers... dark... reader beware.

Sexy, dark, full of twists. There are a lot of triggers in this one so it’s definitely not for everyone.
