I certainly couldn't add anything to what's already been said about it, so I won't even try.

Oct-Dec review:"Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness;"

March review:
At the beginning of March 2018, President Nelson gave a regional conference for the state of Idaho and a few other areas. In his talk he said that the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. translated the book in 80 days, but that that also included preparations for the book to be published, eating, sleeping, etc. So he estimated that it took him about 65 days to translate the gold plates, which is equivalent to about 8-9 pages a day. I thought that was remarkable, and wondered why I couldn't read the Book of Mormon in 65 days. So the very next day I started and I finished today. 65 days! I learned so much more than I ever have. I noticed many themes throughout: minister to those around you, the love of riches leads to pride and wickedness, the promised land is blessed when we follow the commandments, follow Christ, repent and be baptized, etc.

My favorite verse continues to be 2 Nephi 31:20 "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."

Half of it is plagiarized from the Bible. And the words "it came to pass" are in it over 1,300 times.
In the very beginning of it, it has a story about a man who needed to get a book from a man. He came across this man drunk in an alleyway, and God told him to cut off this dude's head, steal his clothing and put them on (wouldn't they be bloody?) and go into this man's house in his disguise, to steal the book.

The author must be commended for writing an entire world with intricate lore and details however the text is primarily religious and in that department the book presents a very explicitly christ centric pseudo trinitarian theology which (contrasted with the OT) ends up condemning both Nicene and LDS theology. As literature, the characters are self righteous and insufferable. None of the protagonists ever do anything wrong and any conflict they face is instantly solved by divine intervention while all the antagonists are driven by just being evil and never seem to accomplish anything. Maybe the most annoying part of the text are the long winding self righteous monologues that run for chapters. Overall, expected more.
