Don't judge a book by it's cover. Samanthe Beck hammered the point home in more than one way with Private Practice. Ms. Beck has proven she can write a scorching hot mystery read again and again. Ellie and Tyler prove that she can write steamy and emotive reads as well. Private Practice has heat and plenty of surprises.

I absolutely adored Tyler. He’s a classic badboy with a heart of gold. He’s charming and caring. Ellie makes a deal with him to teach her how to be a wild woman in between the sheets to help her get another guy. Ellie is a smart, quirky doctor, who was so incredibly naive about the other guy. She’s been fantasizing about the other guy for years because she loves that he has a big, loving family and she never got that. She hardly knows him and misses all the signs pointing to him being gay. There is some OM drama (Ellie and him share a kiss) that Tyler sees. There is some steam but not as much as I expected with the premise being about her getting a sex coach. It’s a nice, easy read with some steam and the writing was good.
Ellie moved back to her hometown to start her new practice and take care of her father. She was the geeky girl growing up who bloomed later in life. She's always had a crush on the high school quarterback so when she finds out he is newly single, she sets her sight on him. The rumor was his longtime girlfriend broke up with him because he was too kinky. Ellie wanted to make sure she is what he's looking for and what better way than have the town bad boy teach her to be more wild?
This was a very cute and enjoyable novella. Ellie was still a bit geeky but very straightforward with Tyler with what she wanted. I loved her character. Her type A personality up against Tyler's easy going attitude was comical at times. Tyler, despite the bad boy rep, was the total package. He was a gentleman at heart and hot in the bedroom. The way he took care of Ellie was just adorable. The small town vibe just added to the story. Fun read!

The storyline reminded me a bit of a Kristin Higgins novel which I generally find too sophomoric for my taste. However this one didn't make me feel like I was still in high school with all the drama.
Didn’t like Ellie. She talked too much and was way too stiff. Like girl relax. Live a little.
Tyler was okay. What was up with that nickname? Lol cringe.

I enjoyed this story. It is my first read from this author. There are several secondary characters that are quite interesting and I hope they have their own books i the future. This story has a HEA but I look forward to seeing how these two lovebirds story progresses. I'm hoping that all of the characters stories intertwine in the upcoming books.
