Why does it get the highest score as of lately?
Because, although its cliché premise, it was like a breath of fresh air. I knew certain things needed to happen, but somehow I couldn't predict them correctly.

The characters are interesting, vibrant.
Ellie is dorky and awkward and a little too in her own head, but also smart, professional, determined, patient, forgiving, loving, and empathetic. she has a personality, flaws and beauty.
Tyler is one of the good ones. He is caring, intelligent, good person. He obviously worked a lot on himself after his childhood trauma, and grew to be a wonderful strong person. He does what he wants, and still he is considerate to those who surround him. I like him very much.
Melody and Roger are good, too. They are very much alive and vital. They are funny, perceptive, there to move the plot along with ease and comfort. Good job.

I don't know how much I can believe the plot with Frank. After a lifetime of hatred and anger he changes his ways so fast, so easily? Though, it handled in the book pretty well, considering.

The plot was one fun to read, and with the characters "life" it made it feel kind of new at times.

I loved the small town aspect to it. It made different interactions and the community affected the characters differently than if the story took place in a city. The long history of the characters with eachother and their families, the inner politics. I also liked the fact the story was when they were older, and knew the pros and cons of this way of life, and did not let the drama affect them as much, as if they were younger. This environment was new and refreshing for me.

Why not 5 stars? Because it didn't blow me away. It did not keep me hostage reading it. That is why. I could live and breathe without having to finish it right now!

All and all, I highly recommend this book. It was enjoyable.

This is an amazing small town read that pack a punch and leaves you wanting more. Ellie and Tyler have so much steam on the page. I loved Ellie's nerdy very logical approach to being sexier and more desirable. Tyler being the very good guy does not realize he is going to fall so hard for Ellie.
I really don't want to spoil anything in this story. I am just going to tell you it is steamy with great character development. The storyline will leave you falling in love with Ellie and Tyler and wanting more!

Okay, I'm a little LOT, a whoooooole lot in love with Tyler.

“Before, in the bedroom, you said you trusted me. Trust me now and let go. I want to watch your eyes go dark and dreamy, I want to hear that little cry you make right before you come. I want to feel your body tremble for me.”

Fun & cute contemporary. I liked Ellie but I really loved Tyler. I also liked the secondary characters and the friendships that develop as well.

I liked almost everything about this book except for how naive Elle was. For someone who is so smart she is so dumb when it comes to other things in life that isn't medically related. It was a good story though and I loved Tyler.

I find myself struggling with rating romance books it seems lately. Usually they all have the same formula and so they sometimes tend to run together. When I picked up Private Practice I was simply looking for something light and quick and a bit naughty... and that's exactly what I got. Only, I also got a story that seemed a bit different than all the others out there, with a writing style that I truly enjoyed and characters that I ended up really liking.

Dr. Ellie Swan has moved back home to the tiny town of Bluelick, Kentucky. Her plan is to watch over her father but when she hears a bit of gossip about a guy she's had a crush on since high school, she decides she's out to win him over. Roger Reynolds had been the object of her affection forever, but Ellie was definitely not even on his radar... he dated the head cheerleader and now ten years later they have finally called their relationship quits over sexual incompatibility ... at least that's what Ellie hears.

Tyler Longfoot is the town bad boy... or at least that's the corner the town has painted him into. He's a successful businessman and he's determined to lose the bad boy title.

When Tyler shows up on Ellie's porch with a bullet in his butt and a demand to keep it secret, Ellie uses the opportunity to take advantage of his 'bad boy' status and have him help teach her how to bring a man to his knees. Little did they know that this bargain would change their lives.

I loved Ellie, and I don't say that lightly. Typically I can find some kind of flaw or something that bothers me about romance heroines, but in all honesty, I really liked her! She was spunky and determined and even quite funny.

And Tyler... hmmm yes... please. The reforming bad boy - he was sexy, sweet and just plain wonderful.

Like I said, I really enjoyed Beck's writing and the characters she created here. I can definitely see where she would have the opportunity to give us a few more stories from the secondary characters of Bluelick... whether that's her plan or not, I'm not sure. Though I'd most definitely read them!

If you're looking for a quick read, that's got some wonderfully written characters with the perfect amount of naughty stuff, then definitely give Private Practice a read. I'm definitely finding that I really enjoy most of the books that are coming out of this Entangled Brazen line. I haven't read a bad one yet. It's becoming my 'go to' list when I need a break from heavy stuff!

The plot relied too heavily on the heroine's incredible naivety and inability to read social cues. She was actually a bit of an idiot. Otherwise it was inoffensive enough.

I originally just started reading this because there would be a lot of sex (and I feel zero shame admitting that), but then I started to really like the characters? Like at some point, it shifted and it became so tender and sweet, and I was rooting for them so much, like dang.

The Premise
Dr. Ellie Swan wants to open her practice in tiny Bluelick, Kentucky, so she can keep an eye on her diabetic father, and make hometown golden-boy Roger Reynolds fall in love with her. But she thinks that Roger is into an “adventurous” partner, and she...isn’t. Tyler is known as nothing but a good-time boy, and he’s pretty tired of it. He’s trying to shake that image, but first - he needs Ellie to get a bullet out of his behind. Then he makes a bargain with her - he’ll teach her how to be a wild woman and she won’t tell anyone about the shooting. But that doesn’t mean he can’t get Ellie to look beyond Roger and see what’s standing right in front of her….

The Good
Really good chemistry between Ellie and Tyler had me glossing over any flaws and enjoying the ride. Tyler is a decent hero who is into Ellie and all her quirks, and Ellie reminds me a bit of one of my fave characters from my soap - she’s so focused on getting Roger, that she blinds herself to everything else. That kind of focus can be frustrating, but entertaining. Especially when Tyler gets under her skin.

The Okay
Ellie’s just this side of Aspergers - she’s very rigid, and hard to get into at first, but she loosens up and I always liked her dorky ways.

The secondary plot with Roger and his ex-fiance wasn’t explored, but I could see that as a separate book.

The Bottom Line
I liked it and I’d happily read more from this author.
