Příjemný vánoční příběh, od kterého se dá očekávat, že dopadne tak, jak dopadne. Prostě klasická, možná i lehce naivní YA. Možná bych zmínila dvě věci. Je škoda, že tam nebylo více popisu, větší navození vánoční atmosféry. Konec mě trochu rozsekal, když se tam objeví fráze Miluju tě. Jako nevím, ale znají se pár hodin :D

The first thing I noticed about this book was how short it was. I don’t know when the last time I read a book that was less than a hundred pages was. I thought the book would be super fast-paced but it drags on and on.

The story follows a British girl that is taking a semester abroad in New York. She goes to the airport on Christmas Eve to go home. But sadly her flight is canceled. She’s also going through a tough breakup and really wants to go home. She goes to a bookstore in the airport and accidentally buys a book about how to get over your ex. Ironic, right? She meets a guy her age at the airport. He’s also going through a breakup. They decide to roam around New York and complete the list of how to get over your ex together. Then they fall in love because apparently, the city is magic. (As a person that lives relatively close to NY and has been there multiple times, it’s not magic. Trust me.)

Overall this book was not one of my favorites. It felt like a very stereotypical winter romance.

Překvapivě z větší části poměrně originální příběh, i když ani on se neubrání sklouznutí do klasického YA romantického klišé. To by snad ani nevadilo, bohužel ale, co se týká atmosféry, ta, oproti jiným Vánočním knihám, silně pokulhává. Děj, je navíc místy až neuvěřitelně přehnaný až vybájený a i když se ve své podstatě kniha čte dobře, celkový dojem není nijak výrazný, což je škoda.

Oh man, oh man. I tried to read this. Really, I did. I like some light and fluffy books too, you know. I just couldn’t conjure up the mood for it. I read other books that also had fluffy romances and intriguing plots instead. Maybe some day I’ll come back to this. When I’m in need of a rom com movie in a book.

cute. predictable. super boring read.

Kiss Me in New York did not get me into the Christmas spirit. I just couldn't like any of the characters... except for the puppy. Mistake, aka the puppy, was definitely my favorite character out of everyone in this book.

Anthony and Charlotte both got dumped around the Christmas. Charlotte got dumped like two weeks before the holidays and of course, the day she was going to go home - her flight is cancelled. So, she's stuck in NY until a flight opens up. Luckily, she meets another guy who got his heart broken.. at the airport. It definitely sucks to be Anthony right now.. because he went to go pick up his girlfriend.. who showed up with her new boyfriend.

Long story short, they were dating a bunch of selfish assholes. Now, I know I'm already assuming things about Charlotte's ex.. but once you meet him - it's pretty obvious that the guy is one big douche.

Throughout the book, they go through a list that Charlotte made. It's kind of about getting over your ex and doing things that you haven't done in a while. Basically finding out who you are now.. that you are single.

Here comes the predictable part, they fall for each other. Especially once they get a puppy and meet his family. Now I loved his family and I loved Mistake (again, my favorite character people!). However, I still couldn't like Anthony or Charlotte. They were just meh.. and I guess I'm okay with their sort of happy ending.

Overall, it was a meh book and I'm glad that it's over.

I received this book from NetGalley. It felt a little weird reading a Christmas book in September, especially as I've been complaining about how the Christmas stuff is in stores already! But it was a lovely, fluffy Christmas story with a cool concept for getting two people together on Christmas Eve in New York. I spent Christmas in New York last year for my honeymoon so this brought everything back and I want to do it all over again. I love that Charlotte was British. Also, that ending (I won't spoil it, but it was kind of cheesy but kind of perfect too). It's very "insta-love" but at Christmas that's kind of what I want. I'd definitely recommend this as a fun, easy Christmas read.
