I've read most of Helena Hunting books and I can say with the utmost confidence that this is her best book to date. It's by far my favorite of her. When Sparks Fly is the epitome of the best friends to lovers stories and I loved it so much!
I loved reading about Avery and Declan together. You could feel the attraction under the surface, the friendship, and the love.
I laughed and smiled so much while reading this book and it gave me the best heartwarming feels.
Avery and Declan were both such endearing and fantastic characters and I loved their connection and chemistry. If you're looking for a book that will give you a permanent smile and just a completely lovable friends to lovers book, pick this one up. You won't regret it!

Special thanks to the author and her assistant and St. Martin’s Griffin for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for an honest review.

I'm so annoyed with that 3rd act conflict, like you wouldn't believe!!! This had the potential to be a 5 star read!

This was enjoyable! I had a good time listening to this on audio. Took off a star because sometimes I felt things were over-explained by the characters at times.

I’ve read and loved several Helena Hunting books over the last few years, so to say I was excited to win a Goodreads Giveaway for When Sparks Fly is an understatement.

I’ve read lots of different tropes by this author (enemies to lovers, second chance romance, etc) , but this one was my first experience with a best-friends-to-lovers.

Overall, I think it was a sweet story. Declan and Avery have been close friends since college, and they became best friends after Sam, Declan’s previous best friend, cheated on Avery. They live together and Avery is just seen as “one of the guys” … until they start to notice their feelings have changed.

I had to ignore a chunk of the hero’s actions, especially at the beginning and toward the end, because they were just so….unlikeable. Thankfully he works through it, and I think the author did a really good job of setting up realistic conflict resolution as opposed to what you see in a lot of other fiction.

I love Spark House and the relationship between the three sisters. Please give us companion novels for Harley and London!!
