The story continues, and familiar players are slowly moving to their familiar roles. The added Cliffjumper story and background story on the Constructicons were well executed. The Cliffjumper story takes a nice crack at itself by making the fact that Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are basically color swaps of one another.

Reading IDW2 makes me realise once again just how intricate IDW1 really is. My main gripe with IDW2 is that very few of the characters feel fleshed (hah) out. I feel like I'm getting random bots thrown at me in random roles without much justification or background and yeah. This volume was a little bit better at establishing characters - loved the Constructicons and Cliffjumper issues, and what Arcee and Greenlight had going on with Gauge. I'm hoping we'll get more of that.

The Bumbl--ur-Cliffjumper story is fantastic. It's the best thing since the IDW reboot followed by the other Galaxies story about the Constructicons. The main series remains plodding and is just puzzling when you consider how the prior two stories point out how much you can cram into a few issues. It makes you wonder why so much of the slow rise of TF book wasn't compartmentalized into distinct character driven series rather than what's become a bit of a slow muddle.
