Another predictably lovely STEM romance from Ali Hazelwood. Neuroscientist Bee and Engineer Levi met in grad school where he hated her. However now they’re reconnecting as a joint venture between their 2 companies forces them back together. When her emails don’t work, her equipment doesn’t turn up and her colleagues won’t listen to her, she starts to see Levi in a different light.
Very similar in structure to the Love Hypothesis, with science, enemies to lovers and a twist that will be obvious to most readers. That being said, it’s a fun read with a hint of spice and lovable characters.

Levi cups my face, forehead touching mine. His hands—they are my home. “Bee. Don’t take this from us,” he murmurs. Ragged. Careful. Hopeful. “Please.” I’ve never wanted anything more than to say yes. I’ve never wished to reach for something as I do now. And I’ve never been so utterly, petrifyingly scared to lose something.

Currently inconsolable 🥹

The first 20% of this book dragged PAINFULLY, to the point where I wondered if this was going to be the one and only Ali Hazelwood book I would DNF because of all of the rambling and uninterrupted misogyny was frankly painful HOWEVER once it picked up (around 21-22%), I was hooked and barely put it down.

Are Levi and Bee essentially Adam and Olive from The Love Hypothesis with different academic specialties? Yes, absolutely
Did I devour this book in less than a day? Also yes
I don't know what kind of drugs Ali Hazelwood puts in her books but I love them.
