Let me just put out my biggest compliment right at the beginning: The women in this are outstanding and excellent.
Baili Qingmiao who started off as a damsel in distress but learned to become a strong and independent leader and authority figure.
Qiu Congxue who has no brain and is super dumb and somehow one of the best if not the best character in this novel. She is so funny in how simple minded she is. Definitely has a thing going on with Baili Qingmiao, I just know it.
Shu Yanyan who is ambitious and has no eye or interest for romance.
Of course I also love Wenren E who is just badass as all hell. And Yin Hanjiang who is so UNHINGED and crazy as hell about his venerable. Stay insane, king.
I also really love Zhongli Qian. My beautiful suffering and always stressed desk job scholar. May you live a fruitful life in the future. I was SO pleased to see BLQM and ZQ develop a deep friendship as equals at the end.
This was lovely and I cannot wait for it to get licensed so I can read it all over again.

For a book this big, I didn't expect it to have such a rushed ending. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it greatly. The journey of the characters understanding themselves and their relationships - in all forms - was great. I especially liked how the female characters were their own person instead of just being there (like in most novels of this kind)

At first I was like meh noo but then I fell in love. Could have been longer and the extras weren’t that great but who cares the novel was good
