Cute rom com. Sophie and Dash give very good banter, and the sex scenes were hot AF!!
Quickly paced and well plotted. Really fun read.

Sophie is a romance author who has never fallen in love. She seeks to find answers to why she never experienced love by hollering at all her exes. Meanwhile she strikes up a friendship with her neighbor and best friend’s brother, Dash, who is an ex-child movie star, recovering alcoholic, and skilled crafter. They become friends with bennies until it ain’t just friends but it’s complicated.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the free e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I think this romance novel had a ton going for it! A fun, slight walking disaster of a female lead who's struggling with writer's block, and a broody male love interest with a secret love of pottery and crafting.

I appreciate that there are real obstacles that keep the couple apart throughout the story, and that both characters do have to learn a lot about themselves and how they perceive themselves before they're ready to enter into a real relationship with each other. While a romantic, Sophie has a lot to discover about herself through both her past relationships and how she still currently treats the people closest to her. And as someone in recovery from substance (alcohol) use, Dash has a lot to tackle and untangle about both his relationship with his family and what he will allow himself to experience and feel worthy of.

I personally do not like when social media is brought up in contemporary novels, and here TikTok is both constantly referred to and the platform of choice for both pivotal character moments and plot developments. I was okay with it.

Very steamy and a quick read!
