Really enjoyed this series. This author writes dark characters without melodrama. Bad things happen. Everybody is scared of the hero and his business are not exactly legal but it is not over the top.
I’m not sure how to explain it. I understand that there are parts of society I know nothing about. Most books take these places way too far but This author dies not. Yes laws are broken, people are killed, problems are solved illegally but it’s still believable.
I loved that Kiera stepped fully into her new world. I didn’t like Mount hiding from her family. That seemed odd but it wasn’t enough to dislike the rest of the book.
This trilogy is a quick read and could have been one book but that’s just being nit picky.

Too much plot and I'm not reading this series for three plot.

Amazing trilogy! We learn so much more about Lachlan's past, and things just start to make more sense. I loved to see how tight their relationship has gotten.

I've been trying to figure out why I've been so taken with this series and I think I have it figured out. While there is some angst in these books, it doesn't last long. These two really work together and are a solid unit. I love that in books. There is no third-act breakup, it's just them being each other's rocks. And boy does Keira really come into her own in this book. She is truly a queen and I love her.

I got the bonus material sent to me and it's great. I'm so glad I found this author!!

An explosive and incredible ending!!

I couldn't put this final book in the Mount trilogy down - it had me captivated from the first page to the last. This is a gritty, dark and seductive story and it is BRILLIANT!! Plenty of twists and turns to keep me guessing and an ending I didn't see coming. This is incredible storytelling and worth every moment and every penny!!

I wasn't sure how this one was going to work out, considering the way Defiant Queen ended.  But Mount had changed Kiera and she went from wanting to run away from this man and his empire to protecting it.

Kiera's change of heart toward Mount was exactly what he needed.  We got a glimpse of how his youth was spent and understand why he was the way he was.  But Kiera showed him love.  Proved to him that having someone love him wasn't a downfall but instead could be the anchor to solidify the man.

Mount changed too.  He found something more important than his business.  He needed that.  He needed to let someone support him and be his hidden strength.  Kiera proved she was strong enough to not only hold him to task, but everyone in his organization.

I liked the ending of the story and I'm glad these two go their HEA.  The level of angst fell off for me in this one, but that didn't take away from the overall series.

This book was probably my least favorite book in the trilogy, and I’m a little sad about that. I felt like the first two books were paced so well. I loved the tension, the banter, and the emotions that we were seeing from Kiera at the end of book two. I also liked seeing Mount slowly trying to change at the end of book two.

So why didn’t this book work for me? There was a turning point in the story where they accepted their feelings for each other, which is fine. But what I don’t jive with was the automatic behavior change that both of the protagonists had. It seemed so out of character and I felt like that should have been developed slower to feel more realistic. It just felt like this one event happened, and suddenly, most of their problems were solved. I ended up skimming quite a bit through this one.

So sad this series has come to an end! I really truly enjoyed this series by Meghan March. The book continues right where we left off and it was non stop action until the very end. We were able to get more backstory when it came to Mount and I loved seeing this side of him and getting in his head. Keira was awesome as usual and I love how she handles Mount and she’s definitely his ‘Defiant Queen’! I don’t want to give too much away but this story will suck you in and grab you to the very end. As I said before in my review “Ruthless King” this was my first time reading this author and she has me sold as a new fan! I will be checking out her past and new works!
