I like to listen to light, but engaging mysteries whilst exercising, and this was quite fun. Held my attention and helped make me more eager to get back to the treadmill the next day. Look forward to seeing what Lady Rose is up to in the next one.

I was first drawn to this series because of the (reprint) cover of the fourth book. I'm not usually a fan of mysteries but I absolutely adore historical fiction, so I decided to buy all four books at once. I am not disappointed! The mystery of the book is quite obvious, and the story doesn't end where you would think it would, but it is a quick, surprisingly light read. There is no small amount of silliness, but it added a humor to the book that made it interesting. While this book may not be a favorite, it is a nice read to keep around for lazy days.
Fun murder mystery with slightly cringey, romantic relationships. Fast, easy listen. Great narrator.

I just so happened to read books 2-4 before reading Snobbery with Violence, so I tried approaching this book more as a prequel. I'm happy to say that I enjoyed this one as much as the rest of the series.
I'm going to miss Rose, Daisy, Harry, and the rest of the cast. Chesney always makes some very odd character decisions. However, perhaps because of that, the characters really stick with you.
