I didn't care for Middle School is Worse Than Meatloaf, but Eighth Grade is Making Me Sick was really enjoyable to me. I don't know if it's a better book or I'm just a different reader now and see these books with different eyes. I'll have to go back and read the first one to see which one it is.

an interesting concept for a book - told in lists, poems, notes, etc - am curious how struggling readers would feel about this book.

Sequel to [b:Middle School Is Worse Than Meatloaf|708694|Middle School Is Worse Than Meatloaf A Year Told Through Stuff|Jennifer L. Holm|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347790502s/708694.jpg|694968]. I didn't think that the storytelling in this book was quite as tight as its predecessor as a few of the many plot elements seemed to be tackled much more quickly than I'd like, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless. If you liked Middle School, you'll like this one.

Another book well done by Jennifer Holm. I find the collage style of this book so intriguing and had to read it from cover to cover. Every minute detail and scrap of paper was meaningful and helped me get to know the main character better.
I think my middle school girls will really enjoy this for a quick read.

I think these books are really neat. I love seeing Ginny's book reports on some great recent YA novels. :D
