I really enjoyed the book and the flowery user of language particularly at the beginning. The plot twists were genuinely gasp-worthy however I felt there was some odd pacing and a lot of repetition.

Sometimes, when a character was describing some personal philosophy it dragged. Overall the story was engaging. I was reading the last pages while getting my hair done unable to put it down till I knew what happened. The ending was bittersweet and the more I think of it the more fitting it is.

Behind every exquisite thing that existed, there was something tragic.

The Picture of Dorian Gray was a book that turned out beyond my expectations. The book mainly focused on the psychology and mindset of the protagonist. It's needed to state that Oscar Wilde was one of the most unique authors I ever read about, the way he expressed his emotions and thoughts in his book was quite extraordinary. At some parts of the books I found myself severly disinterested yet I kept reading about and I probably owe that to the quotes of characters such as Harry. The story overall was plain and dull, what made the book to my likings was the deep interest it had to human brain and heart which are the nonexistent soul of individuals according to it. I dont think its a book worth reading a second time but it's one of the literature classics that makes you believe you would be missing out a lot if you hadn't read it.
