I really enjoyed this book. Both Connell and Marianne were such likeable characters with such realistic characterisation and lives that I simply adored them both.

So simple yet so good. Amazing depictions and exploration of love, depression,  self worthiness. You really get a sense of their growth in just a few pages

I loved this so much. I knew I would, but I was waiting to find a used physical copy so I could tab things. I tabbed away, and now I am sad it's over.

This is a very realistic storyline of how trauma will forever affect a person if they let it. It will drive how someone thinks about themselves, how they let people treat them, what little they will accept because that's all they feel deserve. Trauma can make someone feel abnormal. Like an outsider watching every one else's world evolve, but they're not included. The way this was written into this character was so well done.

**My used copy had a note written inside that said "Grrrr Trash Book? Possibly. Not worth reading." So I was really worried that was an omen and this book I thought I was going to love was just going to be a mediocre romcom. It was not, an whoever annotated exactly 5 pages of this book and then wrote that note probably should have given it more of a chance. ;-)

It was hard for me to get into the writing style of this book, I kept struggling to understand who was saying what in the beginning. It provides a really interesting look into the minds of two people and a blow by blow of what people think. I think it reminds you the everyone is having just as many problems as you are. Both characters are extremely self destructive. The switching time frames was also slightly hard for me to keep up with but overall enjoyed.

as a somewhat connoisseur of depression & anxiety this book hit the spot ✨ the feeling like an outsider, immaculate. the strained family relationships, impeccable. the view of societal interactions & general feelings towards daily life, supreme. that was insane.
