This bodyguard romance is book 2 in the Palace Insiders series, and it was very disappointing. I loved book 1, I don't know what happened with this one, it moved so slow that I had to consciously keep bringing my attention back to it. At one point, I thought the end must have been approaching, and I was only 47% in. This one was not for me. And I'm pretty sure the narrator's voice, which was super soothing (maybe a little too much), did not help.

I wish I could say that this book was made for me. But it really wasn’t. Sadly, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I would’ve liked. There were way too many details and characters. It was a bit frustrating for me. Now it might just be the way in which I consume books, which is very visual. But the descriptions, all the different character names, it was very difficult for me to grasp all of that, and also be immersed within the story. Overall, it was a very wordy book. I felt overwhelmed which was unfortunate because the story was great and I loved it. I liked the story but not the writing.
