Well, it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be....but still not as good as I hoped for. I still think Ember is a dumb ass.
Still a good book as we follow the story of Ember and gang. Gotta get the next!
This book was great and action packed by unlike Soldier, which was a solid 5 star read this one did a few things that I didn’t like.
Dante is slimy and I want to know his end game but right now his slimy little self drives me nuts.
Riley needs a hobby and a sense of honour.
Garrett unplugging Ember from the memory suck machine with no long lasting consequences is kind of unbelievable.
All in all, still a solid book but I was expecting someone to die in this one that wasn’t a nameless casualty and that didn’t happen. Count me disappointed.

Dante and the dryness of other dragons made this one less interesting despite all that went on.
2nd read October 2020
Perhaps I even like this story even more than the first time I've read it. The evolution Ember made is so admirable.

The tension builds in the fourth installment of the Talon Saga.
As Talon grows ever stronger Ember, Garrett, and Rylie, must figure out how to work together to save the world from Talon. With the ever growing clone army, Dante is poised to strike and Talon is done waiting.
This was a great penultimate edition to this series. The tension built higher and higher throughout the book as our main trio prepares to face their ultimate challenge.
I continue to despise Dante, but that's to be expected as Julie Kagawa writes this fantastic "I was just following orders" type character, into a character that gives the orders instead.
The teen angst continues because of course it does but the story is so wonderful that I can't even fault it (again it's written for teens).
Overall fantastic, can't wait to get to the last book.

I think that this is probably the best book in the series so far. The characters, all their actions and how the plot worked out was just great. I feel like Ember's character really stepped it up in this book, though admittedly, Garret is still my favorite. I really do hope we get to hear the story of the Eastern dragons that Jade promised, it has to be interesting!
