This is a much more action-packed addition to the series. Love triangle seems to be coming to an end - which is great because BLECH. The conspiracies got more complicated/crazy and I personally am trying to figure out what will result from the very beginning of this book that is kind of only mentioned a few times throughout the book but then brushed off - dealing with a transfusion. Ready to see what happens in the finale!

Whoa! This book was intense!

This is admittedly a transition book as the plot focuses more on the dragon dynamics, which wasn't horrible, but it did make the book a bit lackluster. Still like it more than the second book, but I think the third was better. This did take some steps forward that I loved because it moved away from the aspects I wasn't a big fan of, and it brought back characters I had been hoping to see. It also went a way that I had momentarily suspected with Ember's origin after book 3, but it was just one of a few theories I had. I'm not sure if I would have preferred it went the other angle, but at the same time, I think the angle it did go shown a better light on dragons than my theory of her being half human child and that being why she had more humanity to her. Also, as I said before, the start of this book makes me absolutely despise the end of last book because it's so stupid and forced drama/cliffhanger stuff :)

Note: This is the 4th volume of the Talon Saga so this will not be an in-depth review.

When the 5th book in the Talon Saga, Inferno, was released, I decided that I wanted to get caught up on the series so I re-read books 1 and 2, Talon and Rogue, and read books 3 and 4, Soldier and Legion, for the 1st time. After finishing Legion, I am too far into the series to give a synopsis because of spoilers so instead, I will give an overview of the series as a whole. Imagine a world where dragons exist and have learned how to blend into human society by shape-shifting from their normal forms into forms that look, sound, and act like humans and have changed from solitary creatures into a corporation bent on world domination. What would influence a dragon’s psyche so much that it would go against ancient instinct itself and band together with others of its kind and be willing to exist in a form indistinguishable from humans? Well, in this story, it is the dragon-slaying order of St. George who have hunted dragons so near to extinction that they had no choice but to do the aforementioned in order to survive. Now imagine that we drop into the center of this ancient conflict- a dragon with an independent streak named Ember, a rogue desperate just to survive named Riley/Cobalt, and a soldier that discovers that dragons aren’t all soulless monsters like he has been taught named Garret. Can they finally end this ancient conflict once and for all?

I really appreciated that the relationship angst that has been the focus of the previous 3 books took a back seat in this one. I really like the angst that has been going on, but I was starting to feel like the story was suffering because the plot was getting buried by the relationship drama. Because of the fact that the relationship drama took a back seat, our main characters were allowed to go through a lot of character growth that they hadn’t so far, especially Ember, as she came into her own and learned what she actually wanted in her life when it came to her relationships and otherwise. We also got to explore her relationship with her twin and how it affected the decisions and choices that they both have. Finally, as the relationship drama takes a back seat, we are able to get some really cool battle scenes and developments of themes that weren’t able to with the relationship drama getting in the way.

Although, this series isn’t as good as Kagawa’s Iron Fey series, I do still enjoy it. It may not be as immersive or as engrossing, but it does have an interesting story-line that holds my attention. A solid 4 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fourth book in the series was awesome, but I did have a couple of issues with it. The main one being how they always manage to get out of impossible situations, it is getting a bit boring.
I think this series would have been perfect if it was adults and not targeted at teens. It is lacking some sex scenes, the action is fantastic.
I am very sad I have to wait a year or two for the next book.

I’m just so stunned. I love the Talon Saga. Help.

If you want to read fantasy, with some drama, action, blot twist, love, heartbreak, sweat, tears and a lot of FIRE, you need to read these books.

Under the past couple of weeks I’ve read the 2-4 books of the Talon Saga (I read the first one a couple of years ago) and I actually think I like the first one the least... It’s very weird cause usually the first one is always the best one. I’M NOT SAYING THE FIRST ONE IS BAD, it really isn’t, it’s an amazing book just like the others, I just think the story gets more interesting and complicated in the books that follow.

I don’t know what I’m going to do after I’ve read the last book.....

Alweer een pageturner die je haast niet kunt wegleggen! Vannacht om 02:00u was 'ie uit.
En nu gauw verder met het slotdeel.
