My review is for Mercy's End by May Dawson

Who wouldn't want to know what happens after Belle and the Beast get married? What if their child becomes a bada** ready to become a member of the Assassin Guild. But then, on her mission she encounters men who I really hope will become part of her harem. How will things turn out?

I can't wait to read the next installment of the book.

Ella and the Alien Prince is a short steamy scifi alien romance by Margo Bond Collins. This story in the Once Upon a Fairy Tale Night is a steamy retelling/twist on the classic Cinderella story.
This story is a quick, but enjoyable read. The author reveals to readers the Khanavai, who are an alien race, who helped save Earth from destruction from another alien race who is simply out to destroy everything. All the Khanavai want in return? Brides. This story is short, sweet and to the point. The pace is well done and kept me engaged from beginning to end. The author alternates between the two primary characters of this short story so you get both viewpoints which I honestly appreciate.
I like and appreciate how the author puts enough in this story to truly make me think Cinderella. For readers looking for a story with a bit more depth and development…this short story might not be for you. But for those who enjoy a good “love at first sight” or more like…”love at first kiss” then I’m sure that you are going to enjoy this novella.
I am rating this story 5 out of 5 stars. If the other stories are anything like this one then I am sure that I will enjoy the rest of this collection with the Khanavai and their human brides.

I love fairy tales and an anthology of short story retelling is right up my alley. Short stories can be hard though because you have to fit in a lot in such a small package. Jokes aside, this story was a fun take on the classic story. It really sets the stage for an entire world that I wouldn't mind revisiting, but stands alone perfectly and doesn't leave the reader hanging. I really look forward to seeing what the other authors in this collection have come up with. If this story is anything to go by they are gonna be good!

This review is for Mercy's End from the authors duo Lacey Carter Andersen & May Dawson.

Wow this novella just make you want to have the rest of this series in your hand already! Love everything Lacey Carter Andersen writes, that's why she's one of my favorites authors. It was so good, i devoured this baby in a blink. Mercy's End is the introduction to a new series that will follow Mercy Ravenwood
to God Fire Academy after being caught trying to assassinate Prince Hadrian, futur Vampire King. So in this novella we get the gist of what it was like for Mercy with her "loving" parents and the betrayal she feels towards the two men who got her caught, Ares and Sebastian, and that she thought were her friends. This short story sets the storyline of the futur book of this series. You don't want to miss this one, it's a must read.

I really love collections like this! It's a really great way to find new authors. While the whole collection was great, I really like Poisoned Legacies by Skylar Andra. I loved the story and it left me hoping that there will be more coming from Andra to complete the story because I can't wait to find out how it ends. I'm really gald to have read this and found some new really good authors.

I was given a copy of Ella and the Alien Prince by Margo Bond Collins from this collection for review.
I did not know it was part of a larger collection of retellings but now I wish I had read the rest of them.

Review for Ella and the Alien Prince:

Quick novella romance to set up the premise for a larger series of romance stories.
Loosely Cinderella based since there is a prince and a ball.
For as short as the story was, multiple characters had filled up personalities and there was logical world building.
Excited for the rest of the series.

I'm currently dipping in and out of this collection of adult fairy tales, but loving it so far!

Did you know Beauty and the Beast had a daughter, who grew up to train as an assassin? Lacey Carter Andersen and May Dawson give a fantastic introduction to Mercy, who you may already have met in the God Fire Reform School books. There's a touch of Terry Pratchett apparent in the guild - no bad thing, in my opinion! - and it's both the perfect back story to a character we already know, and a great set up for her own series.

I've seen a few people recently asking about shark shifters? Well, A Fairytale retelling of Twelve Dancing Princesses by Cassie Leigh has got you covered! I'm not at all familiar with the original, but it's a fun, sweet tale, and I'd love to find out more about the other 11 sisters!

Fairest, a Snow White Retelling by KM McKenna is something of a prequel, setting up the Evil Queen's back story, and I hope there's more to come!

I could go on, but you get the picture! All the fairy tales you grew up with, and a few more besides, but not the versions you knew!

I did not read all the stories in this collection. I chose the following:

--Ella and the Alien Prince by Margo Bond Collins
--Beauty's Alien Beast by Aria Starling

I really enjoyed both of these. The other stories sounded too dark for me but, based on the quality of the two I read, I imagine this collection would appeal to someone who enjoys a dark fairy tale retelling.

I read two of these stories:

Fairest by K.M. McKenna

This is an erotic story that is fast paced that shows what happens when you give into your dark desires. The Alpha King with his pleasure cabinet was an unexpected surprise and the bondage with dark magic in the bedroom scene is sizzling. This novella gives you a tantalizing glimpse into the beginning of the story and ends on a cliffhanger.

Ella and the Alien Prince by Margo Bond Collins

This is an insta-love alien romance with interesting characters. Khai’s rebellion against wearing a tux and his abhorrence of formal earth gatherings is very relatable. Their chemistry is on fire when Khai sweeps Ella off her feet for their first kiss and Ella makes Khai work for his prize. After Khai & Grav gives Ella & Lauren a tour of their space ship, Ella gets her world rocked by Khai in his pleasure chamber. I can’t wait to read Lauren and Grav’s story. This ends in a HEA for now for Ella & Khai and you can read more as the series continues.

Mercy’s End is what happens after true love and happily-ever-after. May Dawson and Lacey Carter Andersen write such an incredible character in Mercy that when the story ended I was left hungry for more. I love the background, premise, and how it ended. Mind you the ending is messed up and I cannot wait to see how Dawson and Andersen continue Mercy’s story in their new series: Guild of Assassins. Apparently though, we can read more about Mercy in Magic For Dummies (I love that title!).

Anybody who dedicates their story to the “Star-Lord” automatically gets a read! Just saying. I love a headstrong woman who knows what she wants and what she doesn’t want and that is exactly who S.A. McClure has created in The Dark Masquerade. Though let me tell you the tea at this masquerade had my head whirling. Someone should have made a vat of popcorn, sat down, and ran a commentary. Holy sugar! Murder, betrayals, conspiracies, and of course secret kisses. McClure makes this dance one you want to watch.

The inside cover for Fairest: A Snow White Retelling is absolutely amazing. Margo Bond Collins and KM McKenna deliver a fairy-tale retelling like I have not read since Anne Rice wrote the Beauty series. While Snow White sleeps, the Queen and King will play and I do mean that literally. Collins and McKenna provide us with a little BDSM in this fairy-tale along with some intrigue. I loved it!

Collins also pens Ella And The Alien Prince and brings aliens to Earth to save us. What do they want in return? Human women of course! In a love at first sight meeting, Ella and Khai have the chance to make history. They also manage to seal the mating bond in a very sexy way. Diplomacy never went this smoothly when only humans were involved.

I have seen a lot of Robin Hood of Loxley redone this year and Laura Greenwood and L.A. Boruff have still managed to keep this fairy-tale retelling fresh in Outlaw of Ladies. The fight scene is a lot of fun. Great detail in the dress to pants switcheroo, I could visualize perfectly. I have to say that I am most intrigued by a secondary character. I have my guesses and I will have to read on to find out more in Greenwood and Boruff’s new series “Tales of Clan Robbins!”
