UPD: upon rereading I didn't remember anything. Now I can understand why, cause of this structure....
The structure of this novel looks like this:
- people gather
- one person expresses their hatred and nihilistic views to everyone around, probably violently
- Prince Myshkin publicly announces they are definitely better then they seem
- the person is moved to tears, on their knees begging for forgiveness
- Prince Myshkin desperately tries to stop them
- everyone make friends and we move to another scene.
There a few episodes with such violent outbreaks throughout the novel described with such enthusiasm one might feel shaken. But at the same time it is very hard to follow the plot, because there are many side-stories and explanations of one's views, it takes effort not to forget why they all gathered in the first place.
Side note on misogyny: Dostoevsky definitely tries to provide a voice for women in desperate situations. One of the characters - an orphan child - was seduced by their rich guardian. Furthermore, this character seems to focus so much on their trauma, they keep selfishly hurting the protagonist, leaving them and then reconcile - this is definitely an interesting commentary.
I should warn you about abuse, hate-crime or a crime of passion taking place so to speak and the protagonist seems to forgive the abuser (I'm keeping it simple to avoid spoilers).
If you're okay with extremely difficult writing - you should check this one out for yourself.

Этот роман я читала в далеком 2015 г. С тех пор толком ничего не помнила, и, когда начала перечитывать, поняла почему. Язык очень тяжелый, отступления и рассуждения размером с главы - трудно уследить за сюжетом. Вообще не мой автор.
Структура произведения выглядит следующим образом:
- происходит собрание персонажей
- кто-то начинает публичную истерику, мол, вы все плохие, а я один_а весь из себя честный_ая
- князь Мышкин кидается угоманивать, мол, да все с тобой норм, ты классный_ая, я с тобой дружить буду
- персонаж_ка начинает истерику поновой, мол, простите меня, придурка такого, дайте застрелюсь
- князь Мышкин паникует, мол, убери пистолет, не балуй
- мало-помалу все успокаиваются
И так до следующей похожей сцены. Всего этих сцен с публичными скандалами штук 6. И в какой-то момент эти публичные истерики пробирают до мурашек.
По поводу женщин в этом романе: Достоевский изо всех сил пытается показать перспективу "падшей" женщины, без демонизирования, но мотив оправдания насилия здесь тоже присутствует: один из персонажей, мягко говоря, проявляет агрессию по отношению к любимой женщине, но ГГ проявляет понимание и прощает, что может сильно покоробить.
