Idéen er god, karakterne komplekse og interessante, en skarpsindig forfatter. Idioten indeholder alt, en klassiker skal have, og alligevel kedede jeg mig bravt og fik aldrig følelserne tæt på. Som at se film gennem et vindue.
Dostoyevsky is beyond a doubt a literary genius. The way that you understand, and feel in your soul what he is trying to convey as a concept is a rare talent.
That being said this was a brilliant, but heavy, slow read. Like most of the Russian literature I’ve read, but with less plot and more philosophical discussion between characters in drawing rooms and at parties.

Maybe it was the mood I was in but this one took me an eternity to finish. I couldn't give up though. There are some interesting personalities that don't shine too brightly on humanity. Maybe that is partly why I couldn't take too much of it at once. It's sad because its true.
