I remember watching the movie and loving it, but I couldn't remember the details. This book was good, but it took me nearly half the book to get into and to get used to the writing style.

Neil Gaiman has a seriously wonderful voice. There is no denying this, I don't care who you are. It's like buttah.

I listened to this over a period of about a week while driving. It took quite some time, and I found myself sitting in my car in driveways and parking lots, trying to finish a plot point before turning off the engine. The plot was so incredibly intricate that I worried I was missing something by not having the text in front of my eyes, able to really absorb it. But as it went on, I realized it was just that THE PLOT IS INCREDIBLY INTRICATE. Wow.

I loved this. I felt so much for Vyaine. (That could be a wrong spelling. I am so not used to this audio book thing...) I actually thought SHE was the missing daughter, but I couldn't figure how that would work. Needless to say, I was surprised as hell when she finally did show up. I wanted to smack Victoria, and despite my dislike of Tristan for capturing "the star", I was rooting for them in the end.

The unicorn. THE UNICORN!! How horrifying. Seriously. I am horrified. Good show, Mr Gaiman.

The interview with him at the very end of the audio book was also nice. His comment about listening to audio books keeping you from skipping over boring descriptions was so accurate I laughed out loud.

This was so enchanting. Listening to Neil Gaiman tell me this story was so special. Brb off to listen to every book he narrates.
