Enjoyable fairytale. I have seen the movie and wanted to read the book. Some changes obviously but fairly close (from what I remember). Terrific pacing and a fun read.

Neil Gaiman sucks but this is my favorite book. I can no longer listen to his narration.
Fun, quick and entertaining read. Engaging characters. I wish I had read it before having seen the movie because I was always comparing the two. I’ve decided that they are both so good in their own ways. Both extremely clever. Surprised by two fairly graphic adult scenes that felt unnecessary. I wish they were left out because without them it would be such a fun fairy tale to read to kids.

I’d quite like to live in Faerie, I think as a travelling stall holder. I’d have a similar caravan to Ditchwater Sal, but it would be full of talking woodland creatures. I loved getting to know the characters in a different way to the film. It would be lovely to have a book about Yvane’s rule in Stormhold.

Lo avevo abbandonato per dare spazio ad altre letture ma, dopo un anno, l'ho recuperato e finito in due giorni. E' stata una bella lettura però da cui mi aspettavo di più, perchè dato che adoro il film speravo di amare ancora di più la lettura. Lo stile non è molto scorrevole in alcuni tratti e i personaggi non vengono approfonditi così tanto.
Non mi aspettavo che, soprattutto la seconda metà, fosse così diversa dalla trasposizione cinematografica e, devo dire, ho preferito molto di più i cambiamenti fatti nella sceneggiatura rispetto a quelli originali.
Nel complesso però il mio giudizio è positivo, Neil Gaiman sa farci sognare con le sue storie fantastiche!
