Super cute! I was a little wary of Heartstopper at first because I’ve already read Alice Oseman’s prose work in which Nick and Charlie are featured, and I really did not like the way their relationship was portrayed. It felt incredibly unhealthy to me.

Thankfully, Heartstopper is an adorable coming-of-age story that defies stereotypes and confronts homophobia.

Trigger warning though for again, homophobia, and some abusive behavior + a non-consensual kiss. But otherwise, this was a beautiful, light romance (with some heavier themes woven in)!

So sweet. This is one of my favorite series. The first volume is wonderful, although out of all of them, it’s my least favorite only because there’s a bit more fluff than the rest of the books. I love the take on positive queer relationship while still exploring the struggles that queer youth—and just high schoolers in general—might be going through.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS TO BECOME A NETFLIX SHOW!!!!

(also my original raring was 4 stars but i am changing it to 5 because i said so <3)

I read this after watching the Netflix show, which I loved. The graphic novel and show are nearly identical and I felt the overwhelming emotions of hope and cuteness and sadness all over again. I had to keep myself from excitedly screaming in the library when they kissed - even though I knew it was coming. 10/10 would recommend

Was this book full of tropes, clichés and every romantic scene that has ever existed in media? Yes. And was it still amazing? Abso-fucking-lutely. So, so many moments had me grinning into my pillow and kicking my legs in the air like an actual child. It's embarrassing.
But this book also has tons of unexpected twists and some really valuable lessons woven throughout. I love that despite how cliché certain moments in the story were the overall story wasn't at all run-of-the-mill. Loved this, give it a read.

Second book i've read from Oseman, and it didn't disappoint! Artwork is beautiful. Really loved the portrayal of Nick's character especially, very good representation of someone struggling with their sexuality. Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
