I thought the first one was rough, this is worse. The love interest nearly gets raped, but then within two days she's moved to Panama with some guy she just met and is okay with him giving her a tattoo? Seriously? This whole thing was ridiculous.

I was SO excited at first. Everything about Gena's books I love was there, like strong female character, husky yummylicious male, and heat! But then towards the middle of the book, it started to disapate. Then it went completely non existent! I'm sadly disappointed. The sexiness was definitely missing is this book. And I find myself not liking them nearly as much as the LoTU. :( I had such high hopes too........

3.75 STARS..the spoilers are major ones so dont read if you dont want to know:) Sooo I LOVE Lords of the Underworld series!...annnd I liked the first book in this new spinoff series...buuttt..This one...hhmmm??...I felt that it was a bit to "preachy" for my taste...The religious undertones bothered me...Im sorry, they did!!...and it went to far when
Spoiler they wouldnt have sex until they got married
...seriously! and
Spoiler now that she believes in the Most High with total absolution, her life magically becomes wonderful, she becomes a Sent one, and gets to kill all the bad guys..
...I want to read the next ones and find out all about the next guys and what happens but not if its like this one...sorry!
other than that it was great! and Gena still rocks a great story:)

I could not put this book down. I finished it in two days. I adored Koldo and Nicola. They're relationship was cute. Perhaps too cute because I found certain scenes geared more toward the YA genre. But if it weren't for Axel I would have given this book 3 stars. I adored him, more so than William. Can't wait to find out what's going to happen with Thane.

Although, like all of her books that she's written in the past year, this book seriously lacked the sizzle that all of her previous books are known for, I still enjoyed reading Koldo's story. Redemption, triumphing over evil..a great story of forgiveness.

I am a huge fan of Gena Showalter. I admit that I am not caught up on all her current releases, but what I have read in the past has been awesome. I love her writing and the worlds that she creates within the pages of a book. As you can see from the description I posted above, this is the second book in the Angels of the Dark series. I haven’t read the first book yet, but I didn’t have much of a problem following along with the story. While I am sure I probably missed out on recognizing certain details — such as this author appearing in the previous book — I didn’t feel cheated by jumping in feet first with book two.

The characters were written beautifully. Koldo was heartbreakingly wonderful. While he is hard to enjoy at times, other times he makes you want to weep at his feet. While Showalter usually writes kick butt heroines, we get to see a vulnerability with Nicola that is a bit softer than the norm. Also, while the sexual tension and chemistry is definitely in this book, it isn’t as high on the sexual scenes that Showlater usually includes. It is still steamy and hot, but not as fluent as in her other works.

While I am a fan of this new series, I still feel the need to revisit her previous works to get my fix of what I have become accustomed to. Definitely a series I will keep reading though because I can’t stop reading what this author writes.
