This book is an excellent example of why character development matters. I think the author did a great job with world building and the plot was intriguing. However, the characters and their relationships were where the story fell flat. The main characters were interesting, but not particularly likable. Zylas in particular didn’t seem to have much character development and the connection between him and the main character felt hollow. Overall, it was a fun read with an interesting premise, but it didn’t grab me the way I hoped.

I did NOT like this book at first. Robin cried a lot and I just don't like that in a female lead. But I am so freaking glad I didn't give up on the book because it was fantastic. I love.. like really love the dynamic with Robin and Zylas. The demon is everything I've ever wanted in a character. I love him so much.

4.5 stars rounded up. I can't wait for the next book.. and by that I mean I have already started it!
