like leaving the door open a crack so that the person you argued with has to get up to close it. That's perfect passive aggressive genius. This book also made me crave cookies like mad.

Mm. Cookies.
I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Taming Demons For Beginners is a bit of a spin off from Guild Codex: Spellbound. Robin is young woman who is being manipulated by her uncle into living with them while she waits for her inheritance. She has been raised to avoid magic, but her uncle and his family are buried deep in it. In this story we follow Robin as she falls into a world unknown to her.
Robin really doesn't know much about magic. She finds a demon trapped in the basement library. Robin has a big problem fighting curiosity and she soon moves from looking at books to dealing with a demon. However, there are those that Robin should fear more. In trying to save herself, she finds herself in an unorthodox contract with a demon.
In keeping her new contract secret, Robin must join a guild. The guild is hunting a demon and this is where we link up with the Hammer and Crow from the Spellbound series. I am curious to see if these two series are going to become one or if they will continue to run side by side.
I enjoyed Taming Demons For Beginners. It will be interesting to see how Robin can control the demon. It is also fascinating to see the demon's reactions. Robin is not the same kind of aggressive personality as Tory, she's a little more meek. However, I think the more time she spends with the demon the more we are going to see her grow. I'm excited to see what kind of demon contractor Robin grows into.
Taming Demons For Beginners is a fun introduction into the demons of the Guild Codex. The narration is also great. I love Cris Dukehart and her take on the characters. It makes this book a delight to listen to.This review was originally posted on Rantings of a Reading Addict
Honestly I just enjoyed these so much I feel like I'm at a loss for words!! How is there not thousands of reviews??
Robin was great and had wonderful character growth throughout the series. Zylas was hilarious and I love him. All 4 books were very well written. Also, I did read this series first without having read Spellbound and had no trouble keeping up! But after how great these were, I'll probably read Spellbound sometime too.
