The topics, themes, and books discussed in this book are serious and important. They are presented with a light touch so as not to be too "shove it down your throat". I enjoyed the story but felt that it could have been a bit better if it had not oversimplified so many of the issues (read one book and you will accept all gay people). The message about books changing people's perspective is important but perhaps just focus on 1 or 2 folks' issues and explore the gray in them in more depth.

I mean, yes, the story’s a bit heavy-handed. It relies on everyone just happening to end up with the perfect book for them. But still… This book has so much heart, so much optimism, so much joy. If you’re looking for a bit of feel-good fiction, this is it.
