A really great telling of one of the most influential Sith in Star Wars. Bane feels like a product of the Republic’s failure to stop the corruption spreading through the galaxy. In a way, the Jedi had a hand in creating him. His life is full of struggle, and because of that, he’s easy to connect with. Even as he falls deeper into the dark side, it feels earned and you find yourself rooting for him.
Bane’s philosophy shows that the Sith draw strength from conflict, not community. The Jedi’s rejection of the dark side builds their strength in numbers, but the dark side rewards those willing to embrace their ruthlessness. The Sith are more like a weapon something that has to be sharpened through constant challenge.
This book really shows why the Rule of Two had to exist, and it left me excited to see where the trilogy goes next. If you want a deeper look into the Sith and what they actually stand for, Path of Destruction is the place to start.

20 minutes of explaing black jack but star wars, early 2000s misogyny, bad fighting/battle scenes, and a sprinkle of super interesting lore drops. they really tried to hide bad writing w the most over produced audiobook ive ever listened to lol
I found this reasonably amusing and engaging. Paint by numbers competence with a better book somewhere in there. It pokes through every now and then.
