Alana makes a deal with the pirates that immediately backfires. The robot royal family comes into play. Hazel is fascinated by music. Everything is moving along and I'm fascinated but I'm not sure I see how the pieces fit together yet.

Well, damn. Now I see why it may be a good idea to wait until the full volume is available. For those of us (well, me) spoiled by a 1300 page 54-issues Saga binge followed a month later by a double issue this regular-size issue was a tiny morsel that was over almost as soon as it began.

And I want more! But I’m not sure I can muster enough restraint to wait a few more months.

Our heroes meet space pirates and we get to see King Robot again. And I still have no idea how TV-head people eat — but they must as Brobot was holding a half-eaten ice cream. The public demands to know!
“They say that the devotion a parent has for a child is nothing like actual addiction… but I don’t know. Seems like both can lead to making awful fucking decisions.”
There’s a bit of spotlight on parental feelings and addiction and the issues stemming from both, but with that cover I expected a bit more Squire. But hey, Hazel discovers the existence of guitars, and it’s quite promising.

But it’s so short! Too short. I mean, even a volume with 5-6 issues I tend to find too short, so this was just a tiny chapter compared to what I became used to in my not very long comics-reading career. And it’s hard to think of a chapter separately from the rest of the story. So I may just have to find a way to forget about these monthly releases and wait until the full volume is released. I think I like experiencing this story in longer chunks rather than tiny morsels better.

4 stars for this issue although this chapter is hard to rate on its own. Still 5 stars for the overall story.

Mediocre writing at best. Putting horrible things by horrible characters to make a point without trigger warnings but then having said horrible character make a point about that is just showing me who you are as a person and what you think will sell. This series has crashed and burn and I have no desire to continue.
