It was a very unique story, I haven't read anything about ww2 with such a naive, childish perspective. It makes me wonder how many kids were similarly unaware how bad the situation was back then.
Moderate: Antisemitism
Minor: Suicide

This was the first book I had ever read about the holocaust. I picked it up from the school library in third grade simply by chance, and loved it.

Una historia con una narrativa plana, con algunos momentos interesantes pero nada extraordinario.

While the real-life circumstances of the book were interesting, the writing was not. Knowing this was partly autobiographical is the only thing that kept me reading. I wish this hadn't been turned into a fictional story. Kerr's family has a very interesting story and I would like to have read more about her father's resistance to Hitler.
