Amazing

I absolutely loved this book. I loved the entire series from Penny’s pov but reading it in James’s pov is so much better! I can’t wait for the rest to come out.

Just not my thing. Boring. Fmc is so one dimensional.

Short version: I almost DNFed, pushed through it because I wanted it to be good…I should’ve just DNFed it. So disappointing.

Full Review: The basic story line was intriguing. I was, at one point, a college student who had the hot for the one prof. So I figured hey, I didn’t act on that but let me live vicariously through this FMC.

WHAT A DISASTER.

Upon finishing and reading the reviews on Goodreads, this is book one from the professor’s POV but was apparently preceded by the student’s POV in a separate book. So MAYBE if I had read her POV first I wouldn’t be so disappointed. But alas, I didn’t, so here I am.

The MMC is childish and petulant. I’ve read the entire book and have no idea what he likes about her other than her looks and the fact that she’s a good girl who is oNlY bAd fOr HiM. But he’s willing to throw his career away? Oh, sure.

And the FMC is a naive small town girl who has no clue he’s a billionaire. Because why the hell wouldn’t she be? Honestly it was borderline infuriating. Add in the fact that both of them have the communication skills of a hangry toddler and it’s just too much.

As if that wasn’t yikes enough, there’s also: an exwife who is like a psychotic supervillain?, almost zero explanation of the intense disdain the MMC feels for his family (but it’s obviously important because it’s brought up a dozen or more times), employees/friends that KNEW he was screwing a student (one even knew she was only 19) and were just like “yay for you bud I’m glad you’re happy…” add a dash of creepy stalker tendencies and voyeurism without consent and I was just fighting to get it over with.

I honestly should’ve DNFed, but then how would I confidently rate it a one and tell you, my friends, not to waste your time? Just…don’t. Trust me.

James Hunter & Penny Taylor, professor & student. I didn’t know this book was going to end in a cliffhanger. It’s the same story as “Temptation” but written in James’ POV. Since I didn’t read Temptation, I didn’t know what happened. This was decently ok. I got drawn in to read it based on the manga drawings of the characters in Ivy Smoak’s IG ads. The drawings are really cute. I never felt emotionally connected to the characters, which is what makes a book really good to me.

I haven't read a professor scenario before but could do so in this instance because the age gap wasn't too bad, but this fell flat for me. I just didn't really believe the relationship and found some of the dialogue irritating. It's basically smut.

I just can't get into it. The constant talking about the one woman just irritates me.

Elementary writing style. Did not like the male only POV. Plot was lacking anything that grabbed at you. Couldn't feel the connection between the two characters. Usually when the spice comes in I get glued and can feel the passion between  the characters deep down in my core. I felt no emotional connection between the main characters (likely due to the fact that this was not a dual POV). I really wanted to like this book as it had good potential, but finally had to stop halfway through. Too many other books to read that fit more of my style of reading

Completely obsessed with Obsessed!!!

Absolutely amazing! Temptation and The Hunted Series are my absolute favorite romance series ever. I was so excited to see it from James POV and Ivy did not disappoint! It was absolutely amazing! I somehow fell even more in love with Professor James Hunter..being inside his head, learning more about his thoughts and views on things is absolute perfection!! Oh and soooo steamy from James POV, like O.M.G. he's such a naughty sexy boy

Plot holes and insta-lovey. As soon as they hooked up before the 30% mark I was done.
