This book is beautiful in every way.

would love to have had this as a kid

After reading the blurb on the dust jacket, I was anticipating a story about a girl who was self-conscious about her eyes and by the end realizes that she's beautiful the way she is.

Nah, this girl already knows she's beautiful. And I kind of like that this picture book didn't follow the typical storyline! She takes pride in her eyes that look like her mom's, grandma's, and sisters. She is confident in her eyes that glow like warm tea. I know she's fictional, but I hope that girl never loses her love for herself.

Beautiful

When I first saw the title of this book, I assumed it would be a memoir. While it obviously is not, I am still happy I gave it a read. It's a beautiful and sweet book, and the artwork is amazing. With beautiful colors and cultural references . Truly, the illustrations are stunning .

Love it!

What did you like or dislike about this book? Nothing. I like everything about this illustrated book ❤
The illustration? Chef's kiss

Beautifully illustrated book with sweeping images and vibrant colors. Important message that what might be perceived as a difference is indeed only manifestation of the amazing variety in humans that should be celebrated, not shunned.
