One of the most beautiful books I’ve read this year. Absolutely affirming and gorgeously illustrated. This one is definitely going on my “must read” shelf.
It's always a good thing to show representation in books. I do wish that the narrator described their eyes in different ways, to let up on some of the repetition, but it was a good message.

Adorable story about Asian eyes and the differences that make them beautiful.
“Let’s talk about anti-racism and start with what is micro-aggression.” This is exactly what this book is about!! !!!oh i love this book so much!! Ditch Dr. Seuss, replace with this and many more like this, you will sure help our next generations build a better and more inclusive world!! Must have, must read if you have young readers in the household! Make it part of your child’s childhood if the kid is with Asian heritage!!

Beautiful illustrations by Dung Ho help show the beauty and culture in this story about a young girl who observes the shapes of other people's eyes in comparison to her and her family's eyes. She see's beauty in all eyes and what they see. I loved Joanna Ho's nods to her culture with the oolong tea, Guanyin, the Monkey King, and lychee.
Beautiful book! Very important for children learning to love their features that don’t align with Eurocentric beauty standards.
