I genuinely enjoyed the book as I thought it was very realistic and represented many struggles that teenage relationships go through. Yes there was sexual scenes but many of us would be naive to believe teenagers aren't doing these things anyways so I'm not too sure why that seemed to be an issue for so many people. The only thing I never really liked about the book was that for a story about love, I never really got to see why Dom fell in love with Wes or vice versa. I would have enjoyed seeing a little more build up.

Overall it was enjoyable, but the ending wasn't my favourite.

I thought I was going to really like this book, but boy was I wrong. Slow beginning, which I was okay with. The middle of the book was excellent. However I couldn't even deal with the main character through out the ending. I was just like "When is this stupid book going to end?" Don't read the book, save yourself some time.

Why. Who. When? Where. How? Dominique is a loser. The loserest of losers. Wow. She cannot do anything. Especially not men! Or herself for that matter.

I had seen this book on the shelves of Barnes and Noble for a long time and always thought about buying it. I am very glad that I never did buy it. It was not a bad book, it was just a book. The plot was basically about a girl, Dom, who gets her first boyfriend in her senior year. She and her boyfriend, Wes, get together and start doing what every teenager does, make out and have sex.

This book should not be given to teens under the age of sixteen for it is mildly graphical. It is not distasteful in the worlds but it wasn’t anything good. Dom’s parents are decent people except in one part where Dom (after going to college) has gained the freshman fifteen. Her dad tells her that she can’t gain weight because she is a girl, but boys are okay to gain wait.

Dom isn’t the greatest main character but she isn’t horrible. I made it though the book and was okay with it. I don’t want to read the second books and I probably won’t think about Dom, Wes, or Dom’s friend, Amy, ever again.

I would give this book a three out of five.

The book has a very frank tone and Snadowsky doesn't leave anything out. I felt just like I was reading Dominique's diary and more than once I felt like I was reading about my own first relationship.Dom's experience felt really real to me. After she falls in love with Wes, her life starts to center around him. Her friends and family all start to take a backseat, which is especially problematic once Dom and Wes leave Florida to go to different colleges. I have to say that I didn't always believe Dom's voice... especially in the IM conversations with her best friend and Wes, it didn't sound natural to me. But that's a small problem and I found the plot very believable.

Grown up Judy Blume, but not as important or ground breaking.

This book turned out to be something that I was not expecting, but in a good way.
It is a sort of realistic input about relationships and how things happen. How your first love will always leave marks. I enjoyed the plot and the characters and it is a very quick read. A very good start to this year reading challenge!

This is possibly the stupidest book I have ever read. While the plot line was somewhat interesting and the break-up scene authentic and such, I found the main character really naïve and even shallow at some points. Her relationship wasn't boyfriend/girlfriend, it was more like friends with benefits. And the solution - if you can even call it that - was that she didn't need a boyfriend to do what she could do with a hand massage and her own fingers! Not much of a solution to loneliness if you ask me. If you're looking for something to give you a head ache, then this my friend, is a must read.
