This is a sweet story of three separate women finding themselves  (and their loves) during the last years of WWI.

While the titular Liberty Scarf is the thread that pulls all the character's stories together; this story reads more like three separate novellas set in the same time period and quickly tied together in the epilogue
by all the characters conveniently being in the same spot and recognising each other or the scarf in question.

I did enjoy this story, but it wasn't enough to capture my fall attention throughout .

Set during WW1, “The Liberty Scarf” is three stories connected through as scarf. Iris is a scarf maker with a desire to become Liberty’s first female scarf designer. Genevieve is a telephone operator that signs up as a US Army Signal Operator. Clara is a nurse and violinist who is chosen to play to raise moral.

Loving historical fiction, I had high hopes for this WW1 focused novel. However while interesting, it struggled to keep me fully engaged. Instead of a multiple POV novel interwoven with each other, this is more of three novellas that are briefly connected by a scarf during the transitions from one story to the other. Because of the shorter formats, I felt that the stories were more superficial than I typically enjoy and wanted more from each of the stories. While the plots were okay, I would have liked more of the historical aspect threaded through. You might like this If you like short stories or historic fiction.

One scarf tying 3 amazing women together. I love it!

The Liberty Scarf is written by three of the most talented authors I have read. Their talent for historical fiction is top of the writing world and must-read authors on their own, put them all into one book and it a guarantee read for me. I could not put the book down and am ready to yell it from the rooftops that everyone should read this book.

All three women characters were strong. They were living through a war and doing what they could to help stop the Nazi’s. I liked that each women had a different job to do. The way they were contributing was different but just as important. I cannot pick a favorite as they were all my favorite as I was reading their story.

The ending is, of course, my favorite part. I could not have asked for a better way to end to the book.

The book is a series of short stories kind of intermingled around people who have either created or falling in love with a scarf called The Liberty scarf. I grabbed the book quickly and did not realize it was a series of little love stories which isn't my thing since I normally read nonfiction and historical fiction but it was cute enough
