I read this book in the middle of my "I feel like mysteries" faze this summer. I enjoyed it a whole lot. The past is linked to the present, and Jane and Stacy are forced to confront both the past and the present to figure out what has happened, and what it has to do with the past.
Spindler is a good writer, and through the whole book she left you guessing as to what the truth of the matter was. What was the truth? And if you think you know it...you probably don't.
The twist at the end shocked me, I really wasn't expecting it, which tells me Spindler did an excellent job setting it up. I was impressed with it, and I might be willing to read another of her books if they happen to come across my path.

I have read two of Spindlers's books so far. Great and easy reads. However, her editor needs to be fired. I have found numerous grammar mistakes in each book. Very sloppy.

fast-paced thriller with all the elements, including twists at the end. But after reading umpteen numbers of such books, I could correctly pinpoint the perp by the middle of the book. Nothing memorable, just a quick read whenever one craves for a thriller/mystery genus

3.5 stars from me. This was my first read by this author and I liked it. I was tempted to give 4 stars but decided not to for a few reasons. Firstly, although the read was fairly gripping, for some reason I didn't love some of the characters as I was supposed to. I wasn't overly keen on Jane or Ian, but I redeemed myself by really liking Stacy. Also, I managed to guess part of the "whodunnit" fairly early on in the novel, although the ending still contained a twist. Lastly, I did find the ending and the twist a little far fetched, but hey, that's what imaginations are for I suppose. All in all, a good crime thriller that I would recommend. I do intend to read the next one in the series.

Great thriller that kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had it figured out there was the twist at the end. Perfect!
