The first 50 pages and the last 50 pages had the most action. The middle parts could have been condensed.

Before We Were Strangers by Brenda Novak is a romantic thriller that I listened to on audio narrated by Anne Marie Gideon. This is the first book of Brenda's that I have read and look forward to reading or listening to more book from her in the future. I feel Anne made this book for me. She did a wonderful job narrating and I can't wait to hear more from her in the future. I would recommend this for anyone that likes a thriller with a little romance thrown in the mix.

Very cliche and forgettable. It’s hard to really like a book when you’re immediately not rooting for the main couple because for them to exist, another woman must be collateral damage. The “twist” was obvious from a mile away and the climax fell really flat.

This book was pretty meh. I was hoping that there would be some really big reveal, and I guess there was it just took SO LONG to get there. This book had way to much build up and not enough aftermath/resolution. 3 out of 5 stars.

I wanted to rate this book higher, but there’s just something about it that didn’t fully sit well. Some story lines were over explained and dragged on while others didn’t. I liked the predictability of the book at first but the double twist was meh. I wanted more.

I debated not finishing this several times. The writing was almost immature and frankly I didn't care about any of the characters.

This book was hard to put down. I wanted to solve the mystery right along with Sloane. There is twist after twist and just when you think you're done with all the twists and turns Novak sends you on another trip.
It was great!
