A book about a man that deserves to be known along side Malcolm X. Its a deep look into what it takes to organise a revolution and the problems that Africa faces. So inspiring, a good passage that I can’t get out I my head

“The revolution in Africa faces a big danger, since it’s initiated every time by the petty bourgeoisie. The petty bourgeoisie is generally made up by of intellectuals. At the beginning of the revolution the big bourgeoisie is attacked. That’s easy…….. But after one, two or three gears, it’s necessary to take on the petty bourgeoisie, we take on the very leadership of the of the revolution…… to take on the petty bourgeoisie means keeping the relocation radical, and there you face many difficulties. Or you can go easy on the petty bourgeoisie. You won’t have any difficulties x but then it won’t be a revolution either— it will be a pseudo revolution.

If i ever become a politician, i want to be this type of politician. Such a selfless leader. Books about Sankara's tenure should be made required reading for African politicians.

Definitely written through the eyes of adulation, much though the tone stays descriptive and it does acknowledge at least some faults of the Sankara government in passing. That said, that's fine with me. Come slip on your rose-tinted glasses and enjoy a brief tour of a genuinely inspiring leader.
