This book has everything I love in a YA romance. It's such a cosy, charming story, with lots of romance but also a huge focus on family, which I absolutely adore in books.

The book basically consists of four interconnected novellas, one set during each season, following each of the four sisters. Still, the storyline continues and the book feels like a consistent whole, but at the same time every sister's perspective is distinctive. I loved all of them so much!

Ultimately, this book has lots of rereading potential, perfect to revisit every time you need something comforting.

(Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher. This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest.)

So if you're a fan of literary sisters, you have to read Drizzle, Dreams and Lovestruck Things. I adored how unique each sister's POV was, their narration voice and internal introspection. It felt like reading a series of connected vignettes (which reminded me of Three Kisses One Midnight). What I loved about the sister POVs was - not only their individual stories - but also the ways in which they see each other. All these layers of (mis)communication and how we see ourselves versus how others see us.

The layers of (self)perception. And don't even get me started on how precious their family is from their inn to their delightful father. It was all charming and every time I went to read, I had a smile on my face. I read this basically in four sittings so I could read one sister POV at a time. Some themes which stretched across the stories (but was first brought up in one sister's POV) was how we sometimes have to let go of the plan. It's interesting how people think we have things under control, but secretly feel like a puzzle piece that doesn't belong anymore.

Not a bad book, but I don’t think I’m the right audience. It’s a little young

I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this sweet book and would happily read more about the Singh family (or a book about another family written in a similar style). Maya Prasad has a cozy, lovely way of describing the islands and the romances that play out. The sisters are all unique and have depth (even if I wanted to strangle Avani at times), and the queer South Asian rep with Sirisha and her dad is great.

Read this if you want more multicultural love stories and appreciate Cozy Season in addition to (or instead of) Spooky Season.

Thank you so much to Disney Publishing Worldwide for providing me with a e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a sweet story! I loved reading it. I loved the family dynamic and being able to read the perspective of each sister as they navigated their own relationships. Just an all around wholesome story that really showed the bonds of sisterhood and how they each fit into the overall family dynamic.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for the ARC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. #NetGalley #DrizzleDreamsandLovestruckThings

I'm excited to read about a South Asian family and especially all the hygge-ness from an inn on Orcas Island. The vibe has me in my feels. Juggling four sisters will be interesting and I hope the book continues to differentiate them. I'm shocked they're so young and still in high school though. And the first part is all autumn-pumpkin-spice-vibes and I love it! I love that the conflicts aren't exacerbated by poor communication. I also loved that though the characters are in high school, we don't see much of their lives in school; it's not important to their character development. And also the poetic descriptions of the PNW season were so lovely. The author did a good job at changing the tone and voice for each section to suit each sister. The Avani section definitely felt breathless all the time. And I love that there is some queen representation. I did get annoyed in the Rani section with the script-like asides. They really pulled me out and I couldn't always figure out what was real and what was fantasy. But I liked Raj's excuse; it was pleasantly unexpected. I also love Rani's constant and sophisticated defense of romance novels. Rani's speech went too long, in my opinion, but the ending was perfect and satisfying.
