I picked this up on a whim and I'm so glad I did because what unfolded was an epic blend of YA goodness. Taking the best bits that YA fantasy can offer and mixing in a sweet romance, The Beckoning Shadow is an easy and delightful story. I loved the world building, the strong female characters and the author's twists on some fantasy tropes we've come to know and love. Definitely worth giving your time to.

A unique and interesting urban fantasy (we have so few in YA) that is great for fans of Marie Lu’s The Young Elites - just add MMA! Loved seeing young women take down the patriarchy one vulnerable punch at a time.

I bought this book as part of the Beacon Book Box - July 2019 and it took me a bit of time to take it off my TBR list but I am SO glad I did.

Well written with real conflict, and stuff that makes you think. Yes I called the twists near the end but I am also 37 years old and read alot of books. But it was a great story and I enjoyed it very much!

This book was so awesome! I loved the world, loved Vesper's story, and I enjoyed it so much! So glad that it's going to be a series! I want to learn more!

This book was the best ever!!!! The writing style was sooo good and I am so sad this book is over. It made me laugh and cry and feel feeling for the characters. I could not put this book down and it was so amazing.
