Eh, it was okay.

Pendergast is one of those super-rich, has all the paintings and antiques and fine tastes that one can imagine. Endless throw-away money. His personal driver is one of those super-secret spy guys, experienced military dudes who happens to have a cool million bucks in his go-bag.

In fact, everyone is just dream perfect.

Meh.

This was my least favorite of the Pendergast novels. The story felt forced and really one-dimensional.

So good - glad this series is continuing on so well, and love that this one focused on Diogenes and Constance.

Wish there were a 3.5 score. Love the Pendergast books, but it seems as though the series is looking for a new source of inspiration. Looking forward to the next with hopes it will be a bit more engaging.

I dropped out of the Pendergast series during the Helen theme and only picked it up again with Crimson Shore which lead to Obsidian Chamber. OC was a plot twist a chapter and I liked the pace of the book advancing the various arcs and especially Proctor having more “airtime” to show his skills (although I wasn’t too happy about the lions, but I suppose it was necessary)

This was my least favorite book out of the series.

Yeesh. The worst by far.

I love this series. I enjoy the writing and the multiple stories and plots.

Pendergast is back

I like the series, but not the ending. It felt ridiculous and unreal, and just an excuse for the next book

Ugh the ending. I can't fully review this book without spoiling it, but the ending made me upset. I enjoyed reading this one though and couldn't put it down. It was very complex, thrilling, emotional, and interesting. Being #16 in its series, it wouldn't make sense on its own, but well develops the overall series and inevitably prepares for its continuation...
