I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am so glad that as an adult, I am taking the time to read through the classics.

What I loved about this book is that despite the ups and downs, I didnt hate a single character (except for Linton) but rather accepted characters such as Heathcliff, Hindley and others, for what they were, multifaceted human beings who created their own fate as consequence of their actions. I love when an author creates such depth within their story or characters that they cannot make me hate anyone. I take that as a sign of true masterful character development.

As for the style and tone, I was pleasantly surprised by how honest and straightforward everything was. No one was taking great pains to act like a lady or gentleman and that meant we could get the the quick of thingsuch faster.

A favourite character of mine was Nelly who had strong convictions and didn't care who, master or servant, knew them.

Was a pleasure to read this and I was thoroughly engaged and entertained the whole way through

I read this because I wanted a quick refresher on the original. It definitely worked well for that purpose. Gods, these characters! Mr. Lockwood is the worst, but so is Heathcliff. And so is Cathy. Ugh. :)

Increíble que al incio me haya parecido pesado y aburrido. Luego de pasar las primeras 50 páginas no pude para de leer. El toque de realismo mágico me parece fascinante y el final del tirano estupendo. Lo amo, de mis mejores lecturas.
