I’ve become accustomed to the author’s propensity at packaging up everything neatly in the end. Though I wanted a different outcome with her and her brother. That was just heartbreaking. I cannot imagine my brother, who’s my best friend, turning on me like that. I’d hoped they had a dramatic convo in the jail but I respect the ties that she cut. Her parents are also the worst.
