Rebekah tells her story of finding love and life as a female entrepreneur. I liked the writing style of this book, it felt very personal yet light hearted. Some of the dates were hilarious to read about.
I was however disappointed with Cameron not being a real character! I found their relationship to be the most intriguing. I also felt the book slumped a little in the middle, I felt like I was waiting around for that final date, and when it did come it was a bit of a let down.
I think women in their mid to late 30s would thoroughly enjoy this book!
Thank you Allen & Unwin for this gifted copy!

You have to take off your hat to anyone who wants to be in a relationship so bad they would go on that many dates. It's a jungle out there. Ultimately I found the book often cringeworthy, shallow and just painful to read. I found myself frequently yelling at the author. Despite that, I think there are lessons in what not to do when online dating that are contained in these pages.

I liked the raw honesty of this book- the author wasn't afraid to dig deep and reveal things about herself that others would hesitate to, and didn't shy away from painting herself in a negative light at times. However, I found the pace very slow and drawn out at times. While it is well written, there is a lot of repetition of the same messages and things she's learned along the way. I listened to on audiobook so it was nice to have in the background but not sure I could read the entire book without skipping bits

The premise for this non-fiction memoir is honestly one of my favourite new year resolutions that I have ever heard, and it was really fun joining Rebekah on her 3-year journey to find The One. The writing of this book is super digestible and very gripping - one of those books that you can’t seem to put down. But then after finishing it, I am actually not sure how much I enjoyed this book.
I think one of my main issues with this book is that I really struggled to connect with Rebekah and found myself frustrated and cringing at many of the decisions she made. For example, after her first date with a NSW senator she goes home dreaming about how if they are still together by Christmas, they could go for a trip away. She then goes onto Airbnb to book said trip away for them to enjoy. We’ve all done the dreaming but not many of us actually follow through with the booking after such a short acquaintance - I just found behaviour a bit needy and really struggled to relate to it.
I appreciate that Rebekah showed immense vulnerability in sharing her story throughout this book which I imagine must have been incredibly difficult. It seemed to me that throughout the majority of these journey she had very low self-worth and again, I found this a bit difficult to read. I know that this is a very real experience for many (and I am sure myself) but watching Rebekah desperately seek the validation of others was not an easy journey to follow.

When To Read: If you’re going through the trials of online dating and looking for a story to show that you’re not alone, this is 100% the one for you.

Rebekah's romantic life is not as productive as her professional one, she hasn't been on a date in 10 years. When she wakes up one Christmas morning crushingly alone the intentions to change starts, she wants love and companionship, she wants a family. Rebeckah opens up about her first love, the one who will forever be the benchmark for what she wants in a relationship and how she deserves to be treated. Once deciding to act, Rebekah approaches her dating in a methodical way, she lists goals and requirements of her potential matches.
Starting back in 2012 this tale intertwines rebekahs quest for love as well as the hardships of developing and running a start up. Rebekah doesn't shy away from telling her story and it feels very relatable. The trials and tribulations of online dating and first meetings were funny, cringy and painful. While I did find parts of it quite repetitive, overall I found it an enjoyable read.
I think personally I have taken more from her reflections in regards to her career than dating. I recommend this to people who lament "it's impossible to online date/ date in this day and age".
