This is again that happy spot on a book that I think is my favorite type of book. It’s lighthearted, but not fluff. It has substance but doesn’t leave you sad. It was very “Man Called Ove” and “The Reading List”, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I really liked it all. Not the most impactful book, but I still put it up there as a good read that had loveable characters with depth.

Such a sweet story of a curmudgeonly old man getting sick and his frenemy librarian becoming his care giver. A phenomenal found family story

This was so good!
It was kind of a random pick-up-and-read and I wasn't expecting much out of it, but it was a pleasant surprise from beginning to end. Stellar writing, lifelike characters, and well placed literary references. I want to join a book club now.

4.5 ⭐️

This was such a pleasant surprise! I went into this book completely blind - I liked the cover, I’d heard of the author, so I figured I’d give it a try. This book follows the lives of 5 individuals, and how they navigate grief of some sort. This book is such a cozy, enjoyable and heartwarming read, where I fell in love with all five of these characters. In a way, they’re all sort of misfits within their own lives and are trying to find their way, all while joining in a self-made bookclub. I loved it so much, but I really wish there was an epilogue! I feel like I needed a little more from the ending to get the full 5⭐️, but loved it nonetheless.
