It was a great book of the most unlikely people becoming friends, while each one grew (all because they started an unconventional book club).

I almost didn't finish this book because of how much I disliked the first character who took a turn narrating, but I ended up being amused by how her inner monologue showed her as both a meek people pleaser and a rude bitch who was jealous of her colleague's success, only to be followed by all the other characters' perspectives describing her as so genuinely caring and selfless

I would have liked it if it had been on purpose

anyway, I would never start a book club for my estranged grandparent

Good premise, just didn’t connect with it as I hoped.

This gets a solid 3.5 stars. I liked the characters well enough, definitely enjoyed the redemption of Arthur towards the end. The thing that really bothered me throughout the whole book was Sloane & Brett's relationship, it was just way too unbelievable for me. I couldn't get past it and it distracted from the other more interesting plot points.
